We are looking for an experienced veterinary assistant to join our team. Our team provides preventative medicine, routine surgeries and dental prophylaxis for our patients. Our veterinary staff is committed to providing high quality patient care, as well as educating our clients. We are looking to add a team member that is comfortable with basic skills such as: Obtain medical histories Obtain patient vitals Patient Restraint Subcutaneous injection administration Phlebotomy Perform laboratory procedures Administer medications Perform X-rays and assist with other diagnostic imaging Basic knowledge of vaccine protocols for canines and felines Client Education Daily cleaning and maintenance tasks Punctuality, flexibility, the ability to multi-task and excellent communication skills with clients and co-workers, are all a must. Comer Veterinary Hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5:30pm and Saturday 8am to 12pm. After-hour emergencies are referred into Athens. Part time employment would require 2 to 3 days a week as well as every other Saturday. Pay will be based on experience.
