Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Kennel Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care and support. In this energetic role, you'll assist with daily kennel operations, ensure the comfort and safety of our animal patients, and support veterinary staff with essential tasks. Responsibilities Maintain clean and sanitary kennel environments by performing regular cleaning, disinfecting, and organizing animal housing areas. Handle animals safely and compassionately, including dog handling, animal restraint, and basic husbandry tasks. Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with procedures such as medication administration, IV insertion, animal catheterization, and surgery preparation. Monitor animal behavior and physiology to identify signs of distress or illness promptly. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during all tasks to maintain safety standards for staff and animals. Requirements Previous kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience is highly preferred; familiarity with animal husbandry and handling is essential. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices is advantageous. Ability to perform cleaning duties efficiently while maintaining high standards of hygiene. Experience with record keeping related to pet care, treatments, and procedures. Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members effectively. Ability to handle animals safely using restraint techniques suitable for different species and behaviors. Willingness to learn new skills such as surgery assistance or advanced animal care procedures. Must adhere to safety protocols including PPE use and proper restraint techniques to ensure the well-being of animals and staff. Pay:
$10.00 - $12.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 40.0 per week
