Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing high-quality veterinary services. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians in the diagnosis and treatment of animals, ensuring their health and well-being. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures. Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both the animals and staff. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Conduct laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, and fecal examinations. Monitor animal vital signs and report any changes to the veterinarian. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Provide client education on animal care, nutrition, and training. Ensure a clean and safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and sanitation protocols. Qualifications Must have at least 2 years of recent Veterinary experience (this is not an entry level position) Proven experience in animal handling and care; previous veterinary technician experience is preferred. Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures is essential. Skills in animal catheterization and veterinary critical care are highly desirable. Knowledge of laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine is an asset. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
