Flowery Branch Pet Wellness Center seeks a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist.
This role involves a combination of front-office duties and assisting veterinarians in the examination room. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and committed to providing exceptional customer service—a self-starter who desires to continue advancing their knowledge and skill set.
Duties
•
Veterinary Assistant Duties:
o Blood draws and catheters o Preparing exam rooms and assisting veterinarians during examinations o Administering medications and treatments o Taking vital signs (temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate) o Assisting with surgeries and procedures o Surgery monitoring o Idexx Diagnostic devices o Assist in managing hospital supplies, including inventory tracking and restocking as necessary o Demonstrate proficiency in applying technical skills acquired through education and experience, which includes expertise in surgery, dentistry, laboratory procedures, venipuncture, proper restraint techniques, and strict adherence to established protocols for maintaining a sterile and safe environment o Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and exam areas
Front Desk Duties:
o Greeting and welcoming clients o Scheduling appointments o Answering phones and responding to inquiries o Managing patient records o Handling financial transactions o Maintaining a clean and organized reception area
Requirements
A minimum of 2 years of previous experience as a veterinary assistant or similar position is required .
Only candidates with 2 years of experience will be considered
Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures is a plus
Strong communication skills and ability to interact compassionately with pet owners
Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and macOS and experience with veterinary software systems
Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks efficiently, and work well under pressure
Familiarity with animal care practices such as pet grooming, animal catheterization, or aseptic techniques is advantageous
