Veterinary Assistant and Technician

Job Description

Mount Berry Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are a close-knit group that values teamwork, compassion, and providing excellent care to every patient. Previous veterinary hospital experience is required. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and committed to treating clients and their pets with kindness and respect.
Responsibilities may include:
Obtaining thorough patient histories Collecting blood, urine, fecal, and other diagnostic samples Performing in-house laboratory testing Placing and managing IV catheters Preparing patients for surgery Monitoring patients during anesthesia and recovery Performing dental cleanings and assisting with dental radiographs Assisting with digital radiographs Administering medications and treatments as directed Providing attentive nursing care to hospitalized, critically ill, or injured patients Monitoring patients and promptly communicating changes to the veterinarian Maintaining accurate and complete medical records Reviewing medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions with pet owners Answering phones and assisting clients as needed Helping maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment Supporting other team members throughout the day
Qualifications:
Previous veterinary hospital experience is required Strong patient-handling and technical skills Excellent communication and customer service skills A compassionate, patient-centered approach Dependability, initiative, and attention to detail A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team Ability to remain organized and professional in a busy hospital setting Willingness to assist in all areas of the hospital when needed
Compensation:
Pay is based on experience, skill level, and job performance.
