Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our Certified Fear Free hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and possess a variety of skills that contribute to the well-being of our patients. As a Veterinary Technician/Assistant, you will work closely with veterinarians to provide high-quality care to animals in a clinical setting. Your role will involve assisting with medical procedures, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring the comfort of both pets and their owners. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures Handle and restrain animals safely and effectively Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff Maintain accurate medical records and documentation Prepare animals for surgery, including anesthesia monitoring Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis Provide basic grooming services such as nail trimming Educate pet owners on proper pet care and health maintenance Ensure cleanliness of the facility, including kennels and examination rooms Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns to the veterinary team Provide a Fear Free experience for patients and clients Requirements Previous veterinary experience is preferred but not mandatory; kennel experience is a plus Fear Free certification is preferred but not mandatory; training is provided Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures Experience in veterinary critical care or emergency situations is advantageous Proficiency in animal handling techniques, including restraint and catheterization Laboratory experience for conducting diagnostic tests Strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Commitment to providing compassionate care to all animals If you are passionate about animal welfare and eager to contribute to a dynamic veterinary team, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position as a Veterinary Technician/Assistant.
Pay:
