As a Veterinary Technician/Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of animals while assisting with various clinical tasks. Job description AlphaVet Animal Clinic is a small animal, one doctor, practice with a family-like atmosphere seeking to hire a veterinary technician or assistant. Our technicians/assistants handle all aspects of animal care with duties that include: drawing blood, running bloodwork in our in-house lab, assisting with surgery, performing radiographs, assisting with appointments, restraining animals, caring for hospitalized patients, dispensing medications, answering phones, making appointments, client communication / education and more. We are seeking an individual with one or more years of experience who is friendly, patient, outgoing, has a love for animals and has a desire to work hard and grow, both professionally and personally. Candidates must have the ability to multitask and provide high attention to detail in a busy workspace. We are seeking to hire full or part time, which would include 2-4 days a week, 2 Saturdays (half days) a month and a rotating evening and weekend on-call schedule. Duties Assist veterinarian during examinations and procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of animals. Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies. Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian. Monitor animal vital signs and report any changes to the veterinary staff. Maintain accurate patient records and assist with scheduling appointments. Provide support in veterinary critical care situations when necessary. Assist in animal catheterization and other technical procedures as needed. Run bloodwork in our in-house lab. Exhibit knowledge of animal anatomy and veterinary terminology to effectively communicate with the team.
