We also offer daycare and boarding services for dogs and cats, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our animal clients. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Kennel/Veterinary Technician Assistant to support our veterinary team in delivering exceptional animal care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal welfare, excellent handling skills, and the ability to perform a variety of technical and support duties within a busy veterinary setting. This paid position offers an opportunity to grow professionally while contributing to the health and happiness of our animal patients. Duties Assist with animal handling, restraint, and pet care to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, treatment areas, and surgical suites by performing thorough cleaning and sanitation tasks in accordance with aseptic techniques. Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians with procedures such as IV insertions, catheterizations, medication administration, and laboratory sample collection. Record keeping of patient information, treatments, medications, and procedures accurately within the clinic's management system. Help manage intake and discharge processes at the front desk, including client communication and appointment scheduling. Monitor animal behavior and welfare, providing basic husbandry care such as feeding, bathing, and grooming. Assist in maintaining inventory of medical supplies, PPE (personal protective equipment), medications, and other clinic essentials. Requirements Prior kennel experience or animal handling background is essential; veterinary technician or assistant experience is highly preferred. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and behavior is required. Experience with surgical support tasks such as aseptic technique, IV insertion, medication administration, and laboratory procedures is desirable. Strong skills in animal restraint, pet care practices, and client communication are necessary for success in this role. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Familiarity with veterinary clinic operations including record keeping and laboratory work is advantageous. Commitment to animal welfare, safety protocols, and proper use of PPE throughout all duties.
