  • 27/hour Your skills can take you further in veterinary medicine.
You've learned a lot from working with animals. Maybe you're already comfortable assisting with medical procedures, or maybe you're ready to become more involved in patient care. At AcutePet Urgent Care in Bellevue, Kentucky, veterinary assistants have the opportunity to do meaningful, hands-on clinical work. We recognize the experience you bring and want to know where you'd like to take it. Whether you've worked in a veterinary hospital or gained experience in another animal-care setting, we'd welcome the opportunity to get to know you. The Work You'll work alongside veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians caring for dogs and cats with unexpected illnesses and injuries. Depending on your experience, training, and demonstrated competency, your work may include blood collection, IV catheter placement, diagnostic imaging, patient monitoring, and assisting with treatments and procedures under appropriate veterinary supervision. We see same-day appointments, call-ahead patients, and walk-ins as capacity allows. The cases and priorities change throughout the day, and everyone plays a part in keeping patient care moving, from preparing equipment and treatment areas to recognizing when a patient needs additional attention. Every AcutePet hospital has a Managing DVM, and our medical standards and protocols are led by Chief Medical Officer John Anastasio, DVM, DACVECC, a board-certified specialist in Emergency and Critical Care. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who takes patient care seriously, pays attention to the details, communicates well, and understands the importance of being someone their team can depend on. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous veterinary or animal-care experience is preferred, but not required. Reliable and punctual attendance is an essential part of this role. Our patients and teammates depend on having the right people in place for every shift. Our Bellevue hospital is open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts is required. What You Can Expect From Us $20
