Independently owned, GP practice for cats and dogs in Carver, MN is looking for a CVT or vet assistant. This is your opportunity to work in a psychological safe and welcoming clinic culture.   • Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgeries
  • Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed by veterinarians
  • Perform laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis
  • Monitor vital signs of animals during procedures
  • Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery of animals
  • Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and procedures
  • Clean and maintain examination rooms, surgical suites, and laboratory areas
  • Assist with animal restraint during examinations and procedures
  • Provide support to clients by answering questions and providing education on pet care
  • Employees are cross trained and work in reception, treatment and surgery with care given to ensure adequate training and room for growth in all areas. Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility is required
  • Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
  • Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for long periods of time Skills
  • Veterinary critical care
  • Laboratory skills for conducting tests on samples
  • Animal husbandry knowledge for proper care of animals in the clinic
  • Aseptic technique for maintaining cleanliness during procedures
  • Dog handling skills for safe restraint during examinations or treatments
  • Kennel management for maintaining cleanliness and comfort of animals in the clinic
  • Veterinary assistant skills for providing support to veterinarians and assisting with various tasks
