Hometown Animal Clinic is a family-owned veterinary clinic that opened in January 2025. We are looking for a dependable, motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team and help provide friendly, high-quality care in a fast-paced general practice setting.

Part-Time Schedule:
3 days/week Occasional shifts: Saturdays as needed
On-call:
Includes rotating on-call responsibilities What You'll Do Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures Safely handle and restrain animals of varying sizes and temperaments Administer medications and vaccinations as directed Prepare patients for procedures/surgery, including aseptic technique and assistance with catheterization as needed Support diagnostics and treatment workflow (based on training/comfort level), including: IV catheter placement, Venipuncture/blood draws, Urine sample collection, Running in-house lab tests, Assisting with radiographs (taking/processing) with appropriate safety protocols, Monitor hospitalized/boarding patients and communicate concerns promptly, Provide basic husbandry care (feeding, walking/exercise, comfort measures), Maintain a clean, organized hospital (exam rooms, treatment areas, surgery, radiology, kennel areas), Assist with client communication as assigned (callbacks, discharge instructions, follow-up questions), Take initiative—see what needs done and help keep the day running smoothly Physical Requirements Ability to lift/carry/restrain animals of varying sizes (with assistance/tools as needed for safety) Ability to stand/walk for extended periods Ability to tolerate frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting Manual dexterity for restraint, lab procedures, and medication administration Ability to respond quickly to sudden patient movement Comfortable working around animals, animal waste, cleaning agents, anesthetic gases, and typical clinic noise
Pay:
