Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, with the ability to support the on-duty veterinarian in providing high-quality medical care to a variety of animals. This role involves assisting with routine procedures, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and ensuring the comfort and safety of our animal patients. Duties
  • Assist the veterinarian during examinations and surgical procedures.
  • Handle and restrain animals safely during treatments and examinations.
  • Prepare animals for surgery, including administering pre-operative medications as directed.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information as needed.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests, such as blood draws and urinalysis.
  • Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Monitor animal recovery post-surgery and provide appropriate post-operative care.
  • Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventative health measures.
  • Ensure the clinic is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Experience
  • Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with animal physiology, anatomy, and restraint techniques is beneficial.
  • Experience handling dogs, cats, or other animals is a plus.
  • Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices is advantageous for candidates looking to advance their skills.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and pet owners.

$14.00
