Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care and client service. In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by handling animal husbandry, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. Duties Assist with animal restraint, handling, and behavior management to ensure safety during examinations and procedures Support veterinary technicians with tasks such as medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, and surgery preparation Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, kennels, and surgical suites through thorough cleaning and sanitation practices Help with record keeping by documenting treatments, medications, and patient information accurately and efficiently Provide pet care including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animal welfare throughout their stay Communicate effectively with clients at the front desk regarding appointment scheduling, pet care instructions, and follow-up needs Support animal husbandry efforts by understanding animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior to promote overall health and well-being Qualifications Prior kennel or veterinary clinic experience is highly preferred; experience with animal handling is essential Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and basic medical procedures such as medication administration and record keeping Experience with dog handling, and animal restraint techniques is a plus Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly to ensure safety for both animals and staff Strong communication skills for interacting with clients professionally and compassionately Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Willingness to learn new skills related to veterinary critical care, surgery assistance, and advanced animal husbandry practices This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about animal welfare who want to grow their career in veterinary medicine. Pay:
$14.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
