You will play a vital part in supporting veterinary professionals by providing exceptional animal care, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring a clean, safe environment for our furry patients. Responsibilities Assist veterinary staff during examinations, surgeries, and treatments by preparing animals and equipment. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques, including dog handling, animal husbandry, and equine experience when applicable. Perform routine animal care tasks such as feeding, cleaning kennels, and maintaining hygiene standards using aseptic techniques. Support laboratory procedures including sample collection, record keeping, and laboratory testing preparation. Administer medications and perform IV insertions or catheterizations under supervision to ensure accurate treatment delivery. Maintain detailed records of patient histories, treatments, medication administration, and procedural documentation. Communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions, post-operative care, and general animal welfare concerns. Requirements Prior veterinary assistant experience with familiarity in veterinary terminology and clinical procedures. Demonstrated kennel experience, animal handling skills, and knowledge of animal behavior and physiology. Experience with surgery support, medication administration, and aseptic techniques preferred. Ability to perform animal restraint safely for various species including dogs and cats/ Strong record-keeping skills along with laboratory experience are highly desirable. Knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE) use and adherence to safety protocols in a veterinary setting. Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach to pet owners' concerns. Pay:
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 33.0 - 40.0 per week
