Job Description

All Fur Paws Animal Hospital is seeking a dependable, compassionate Veterinary Surgical Technician/Assistant to support our veterinarians and care for patients before, during, and after basic procedures. The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to detail, and comfortable working as part of a busy veterinary team. This is a part time position which ranges from 20-35 hours a week. Responsibilities Prepare patients, surgical suites, equipment, and supplies for surgical and dental procedures. Assist veterinarians during surgery and dentistry. Follow sterile technique and maintain a clean surgical environment. Monitor patients under anesthesia as trained and directed by the veterinarian. Provide attentive care during anesthesia recovery and report any concerns promptly. Clean, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and equipment. Maintain accurate surgical, anesthesia, and patient care records. Assist with examinations, treatments, laboratory work, and other hospital duties as needed. Handle and restrain dogs and cats safely and compassionately. Communicate clearly with veterinarians, coworkers, and clients. Qualifications Veterinary technician or assistant experience, especially in surgery or dentistry. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow medical instructions. Dependable, calm under pressure, and willing to help wherever needed. Able to work well with others and treat patients with compassion.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 35.0 per week
