Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care and client service. In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by assisting with animal handling, medical procedures, and clinic operations. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help ensure a smooth workflow, promote animal welfare, and create a welcoming environment for pet owners. Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint, handling, and behavior management to ensure safety for both animals and staff Support veterinary technicians during procedures such as IV insertions, catheterizations, medication administration, and surgeries Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by performing thorough cleaning, sanitation, and equipment sterilization in accordance with PPE guidelines Help with record keeping including updating patient files, treatment logs, and medication records accurately Provide pet care support including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animal welfare before, during, and after treatments Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, appointment scheduling, and general inquiries Support front desk duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing client check-ins Qualifications Prior kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; experience working in veterinary clinics is highly valued Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal husbandry, anatomy, physiology, and behavior is essential Experience with surgical support tasks such as IV insertion, medication administration, catheterization, and animal restraint is desirable Ability to handle dogs confidently and compassionately while ensuring safety for animals and staff Strong record keeping skills with attention to detail in documenting treatments and procedures Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients professionally and empathetically Willingness to learn about veterinary critical care practices and expand your skill set in a fast-paced environment Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining high standards of animal welfare and clinic cleanliness Join us in delivering compassionate pet care while advancing your career in a supportive and energetic environment!
Pay:
$17.00 - $22.00 per hour
