Job Description

Full Time Experienced Veterinary Assistant Are you a compassionate, reliable, and experienced veterinary assistant looking to grow in a supportive and team-oriented clinic? We're looking for a dedicated Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of one year of hands-on clinical experience to join our practice and help us deliver exceptional care to our patients and clients! About Us Cross County Veterinary Service is a full-service veterinary medical facility open Monday
  • Friday 8am-5pm and Saturday 8am-12pm.
We primarily treat dogs and cats, but also horses, cattle, and small ruminants. Our staff is committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, preventative health care, and client education. We seek to provide the best possible medical, surgical and dental care for our highly valued patients. Please note that this position is small animal related (dogs & cats), there is no guarantee to work with any other species. Responsibilities Assist Veterinarians & RVTs during exams, treatments, and surgeries Safely and confidently restrain and handle animals of all sizes and temperaments Perform basic lab tests, radiographs, and sample collection Administer medications and treatments as directed by DVM Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, treatment areas and clinic Communicate effectively with clients and team members Support in inventory management and equipment upkeep Maintain accurate records of patient care, treatments, and medications Assists in reception as needed, must be comfortable speaking on the phone Understands that sometimes the job requires us staying past "closing" time Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year of experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital (required) Strong animal handling and clinical skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Candidate MUST work well in a team environment Ability to confidently and safely perform job duties Schedule Rotating Saturday Schedule (8am-1pm) Set Weekly Schedule (8am-5pm
  • 4 days a week, aside from rotating Monday) Rotating Monday 10am-7pm shift No On Call Closed on
Major Holidays:
New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving & Christmas. Our clinic is also closed on Jug Day! We close early on the day before Thanksgiving (3pm), on Christmas Eve (12pm) & on New Year's Eve (3pm)! Benefits
