Job Description

Cats Only Veterinary Clinic is the original, full-service feline veterinary practice located in Columbus, Ohio. For over thirty years, we've had one purpose: to revolutionize the finest in feline healthcare and we're looking to expand our team. Cats Only is a certified Gold-level Cat-Friendly Practice® by the American Association of Feline Practitioners. We currently have six veterinarians on staff and many registered veterinary technicians, in addition to trained veterinary assistants and VRCE trained customer service representatives. We are growing and searching for full-time, experienced, veterinary assistants to help us meet the demands of our flourishing practice. Duties include (and are not limited to): Working closely with the veterinary team on patient examinations, treatments, and procedures using Cat Friendly Practice recommendations. Educating our clients on home care instructions, medications, and general wellness recommendations Assisting in examination rooms for wellness and/or medical appointments Providing nursing care to hospitalized patients Performing in-house laboratory testing and preparing samples for outside laboratories Filling authorized medications and preparing vaccinations for administration Radiograph and ultrasonography assisting And much more! In our new team member, we expect someone who: loves all things cats and is energetic when it comes to their care; has at least 2 years of experience in veterinary medicine ; is compassionate towards co-workers, patients, caregivers and themselves; has a thirst for learning and an inquisitive mind; believes attention to detail and documentation is essential to great care; has a passion for educating feline caregivers on the need for wellness and preventative care; is responsible and accountable; and desires to be in a position where your company's culture demonstrates its care for you as well as its patients. This position is based at our Lewis Center location. To support complete onboarding, some training shifts may be scheduled at our Upper Arlington location. Applicants must be able to reliably travel to both locations during the training period.

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour

During the 90-day introductory and training period, employees may be scheduled for training shifts at our Upper Arlington location up to once per week. Are you able to reliably commute to and work at both locations as scheduled? Are you available to work a variable schedule Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, including opening and closing shifts as scheduled? This position participates in a rotating weekend boarding-care schedule at our Upper Arlington location, typically about once every six weeks. Weekend responsibilities include traveling to the clinic at scheduled intervals on both Saturday and Sunday to provide care for boarding cats. Are you able to reliably participate in this rotation?
