Why Our Veterinary Assistants Love It Here You'll have a four-day workweek. You'll work four days a week, with rotating half-day Saturdays balanced by a shorter week (3.5 weekdays). What Our Veterinary Assistants Do Anticipate the needs of our veterinarians to keep appointments and procedures running efficiently Perform venipuncture and blood draws Place IV catheters Prepare and interpret ear and skin cytology to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning Guide canine and feline vaccine protocols and scheduling Educate clients on appropriate ages and conditions for spaying and neutering dogs and cats Support clients and coworkers with empathy, patience, and a positive attitude Ask for help when you need it, and offer it when others do Responsibilities may vary based on hospital needs as well as your experience, training, certifications, credentials, and assigned responsibilities.
