About Us We are a small, privately-owned animal practice dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate medical care to dogs and cats. Our supportive team environment focuses on collaborative patient care, client education, and continuous learning. Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and energetic Veterinary Assistant to join our clinical team. You will work directly with our veterinarians and veterinary technicians to handle daily patient care, maintain a clean hospital environment, and ensure a low-stress visit for every pet.
Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Handling:
Safely restrain animals during physical exams, blood draws, and medical procedures. Monitor hospitalized or boarding animals, providing food, water, and exercise.
Clinic Sanitation:
Clean and disinfect exam rooms, treatment areas, cages, and surgical suites between appointments. Sterilize surgical tools and medical equipment.
Medical Support:
Assist with collecting and labeling lab samples (blood, urine, feces). Prepare medications and restock exam rooms.
Client Service:
Greet clients, answer basic inquiries, and help communicate post-procedure care instructions under staff direction. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Previous animal care or customer service experience preferred (willing to train the right candidate!) Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs safely. Compassionate demeanor and strong team-first communication skills
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 - 40.0 per week
