Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, including radiology diagnostics and laboratory work. Perform animal restraint, handling, and husbandry to ensure safety and comfort for pets and staff. Prepare and operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, anesthesia monitors, and laboratory analyzers with precision. Administer medications, vaccines, and fluids via IV insertion or other routes, following aseptic techniques. Monitor animals under anesthesia during surgical procedures, ensuring proper veterinary anesthesia monitoring and maintaining general anesthesia protocols. Collect blood samples (phlebotomy), perform diagnostic tests, and process laboratory samples efficiently. Maintain accurate veterinary software records, update patient files, and assist with client communication regarding pet care instructions. Qualifications Previous kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; familiarity with dog training and pet grooming is a plus. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and critical & intensive care procedures. Experience with dental terminology, veterinary surgical assistance, and emergency medicine enhances your candidacy. Skilled in the operation of medical equipment such as radiology devices, laboratory analyzers, and anesthesia machines. Strong ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques; experience with equine or large animal handling is advantageous. Proficiency in veterinary software systems for record keeping and diagnostics. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
