Job Description
Job Overview Wellness and Urgent care in Bristol, TN is looking for experienced Veterinary Assistant or Technician to work part-time in our clinic which can become full-time. Work hours are between 12pm and 8pm Monday through Saturday. Duties Assist with animal handling and restraint during examinations, treatments, and surgeries to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment by performing thorough cleaning, sterilization of equipment, and proper disposal of waste following aseptic techniques. Prepare examination rooms, stock supplies, and assist at the front desk with client communication, appointment scheduling, and record keeping. Support surgical procedures by preparing surgical areas, assisting during operations, and ensuring adherence to veterinary terminology and aseptic protocols. Handle animals safely using appropriate restraint techniques while demonstrating excellent animal behavior management skills. Experience Experience working as a veterinary technician or in a veterinary clinic setting is required. Familiarity with veterinary critical care procedures enhances your ability to support urgent patient needs. Hands-on experience with dog handling, equine care, or other animal species is required. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and laboratory procedures will help you excel in this role. Proficiency in record keeping, medication administration, and client communication is essential for maintaining high standards of care. Demonstrated ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE), perform aseptic techniques, and follow safety protocols ensures a safe working environment for all team members.
