Job Description

Avenue Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician or experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our caring and dedicated team. We are an AAHA accredited small animal hospital devoted to a high standard of medicine with consistent and superior customer service.
Applicants must be familiar with:
preparation and administration of medications and treatments; IV catheter placement; blood draws; proper care of hospitalized patients; obtaining and preparing samples for laboratory evaluations; quantifying and recording cytology results; preparation of invoices, treatment plans, and discharge instructions; proper technique and positioning for radiographs; client education and communication; obtaining patient history and recording vital signs. The ideal candidate should possess a positive attitude, be a team player, and hardworking. Licensure is not required, but we ask that only applicants with Experience in Veterinary technician experience apply. Applicants without veterinary technician experience will not be considered. Responsibilities Provide patient care for veterinary patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with anesthesia and recovery. Perform diagnostic and supportive tasks such as IV access, blood collection, X-rays, and basic laboratory work. Assist veterinarians during exams and procedures; handle and restrain dogs and other animals safely and calmly. Maintain accurate patient records, communicate with pet owners, and provide post-visit care instructions. Ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper handling of equipment, supplies, and kennels; participate in continual skills development.
