Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this energetic role, you will assist veterinarians with clinical procedures, provide exceptional pet care, and ensure the smooth operation of our veterinary services. Duties Prepare animals for examinations and procedures by safely restraining and handling them using proper animal handling techniques. Assist veterinarians during surgeries, dental procedures, and diagnostic tests by operating medical equipment such as X-ray machines, laboratory analyzers, and anesthesia systems. Perform laboratory tests including blood draws (phlebotomy), urine analysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnoses. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments following veterinary protocols while monitoring animal responses. Maintain detailed records of patient histories, treatments, medication administrations, and laboratory results with precision and attention to detail. Support pet owners with pet care advice, grooming recommendations, and post-procedure instructions to promote ongoing health. Manage animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning kennels, and ensuring proper animal physiology monitoring during critical or intensive care situations. Experience Previous veterinary technician experience or equivalent certification is required; experience with critical & intensive care is highly valued. Demonstrated proficiency in veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology to accurately interpret clinical signs and procedures. Hands-on experience with anesthesia administration (including general anesthesia), vascular access (IV insertion), animal catheterization, and aseptic techniques. Skilled in radiology diagnostics including diagnostic radiology procedures such as X-ray imaging for accurate diagnosis. Familiarity with laboratory equipment operation and pet grooming practices enhances your ability to deliver comprehensive pet care. Strong dog handling skills along with experience in equine or other large animal care are considered advantageous.
