Our ideal Veterinary Assistant is reliable, client and patient focused, proactive, coachable, and flexible . You do not need to know everything on day one, but you do need to bring a strong foundation, a willingness to learn, and a team-first mindset. What You'll Do As a Veterinary Assistant, you will work closely with our veterinarian and support team to provide excellent medical care and outstanding client experience.

Responsibilities may include:

Assisting with patient appointments, exams, treatments, and procedures Safely handling and restraining dogs and cats Assisting with venipuncture, catheter placement, and other routine procedures Assisting with anesthesia preparation and monitoring Performing or assisting with surgical procedures and dental cleanings Assisting in taking radiographs, collecting, and processing laboratory samples Maintaining accurate patient information and medical records Communicating clearly and compassionately with clients Reviewing basic instructions, medications, and follow-up information with pet owners as directed Maintaining clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment and patient-care areas Anticipating the needs of the veterinarian and fellow team members Learning and effectively utilizing our hospital software and technology Pitching in wherever needed as we establish workflows and build our new hospital together Schedule & Compensation We are looking for someone with at least 2 years of veterinary hospital experience and a solid foundation in veterinary assisting. Pet Hospital of Pflugerville will initially be open Monday through Friday . As the hospital grows, our schedule may expand to include later weekday hours and/or weekends, so flexibility for future scheduling needs is important.

Pay:

$17-$22 per hour, based on experience and skill set.
