This position will primarily support our vaccine clinic and occasionally our surgical team . This is a hands-on clinical position with opportunities to develop a wide range of veterinary technical skills. We are looking for someone who enjoys staying busy, is eager to learn, works well as part of a team, and is comfortable working with both dogs and cats in a fast-paced environment. We work closely with pet owners, local rescues, and shelters to provide affordable veterinary care to our community. Our clinic performs high-volume spay/neuter procedures, dental procedures, vaccine appointments, and other preventative services. Responsibilities Vaccine Clinic Responsibilities will increase as training is completed and competency is demonstrated and may include: Assist technicians and veterinarians during vaccine and preventative-care appointments Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments Obtain accurate patient weights and patient information Obtain and record temperature, pulse, and respiration (TPR) Prepare vaccines, medications, supplies, and treatment areas Administer vaccinations and other SQ or IM injections Assist with and perform blood draws Assist with and perform microchip placement Learn canine and feline vaccine schedules and preventative-care protocols Recognize signs of anxiety, fear, and vaccine reactions in animals Assist with heartworm prevention services and protocols Assist with vaccine clinic check-in, check-out, and invoice entry Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients Maintain an efficient patient flow during busy vaccine clinics Clean, disinfect, restock, and maintain treatment areas and supplies Surgery & Clinical Support Assist veterinary technicians with patient intake and surgical preparation as needed Safely handle and restrain surgical patients Prepare surgical supplies and treatment areas Help clean and turn over surgical and recovery areas Assist with patient movement and recovery as directed by technicians Restock supplies and maintain clean, organized work areas Provide additional clinical support where needed to keep the clinic running efficiently What We're Looking For Previous veterinary, shelter, rescue, kennel, or animal-handling experience is preferred but not required Comfortable safely handling both dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments Interested in learning hands-on veterinary technical skills Comfortable with blood, needles, bodily fluids, and other routine aspects of veterinary medicine Able to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment Dependable and punctual Strong attention to detail Able to follow established protocols and take direction Able to work collaboratively and jump in where needed Comfortable with cleaning and the less glamorous parts of veterinary medicine Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a daily basis Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and remain physically active for extended periods throughout a 10-hour shift Schedule Full-time, Monday-Thursday Four 10-hour shifts per week This position primarily supports our vaccine clinic but will also provide assistance to our surgical and clinical teams as needed. Flexibility and teamwork are important parts of the position. Training & Growth Opportunities We provide structured, hands-on training for this position. Employees will progress through skills as training is completed and competency is demonstrated. We strongly value cross-training and developing employees from within.
