Job Description

Job Overview Join Us as a full-time Veterinary Assistant and be a vital part of providing exceptional animal care and client service. In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians and technicians by handling animals, assisting with medical procedures, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your dedication to animal welfare, compassionate and excellent communication skills will help create a positive experience for pets and their people. Duties Assist with animal handling, restraint, and behavior management to ensure safe and stress-free procedures Support veterinary technicians during surgeries and medical procedures, medication administration, IV insertions, blood collection, lab sample handling and processing, and critical care treatments Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by performing thorough cleaning, sanitation, and equipment sterilization in compliance with PPE protocols Manage record keeping including patient histories, treatment logs, medication records, and client documentation Handle responsibilities such as greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and answering phone inquiries with professionalism Provide pet care support throughout inpatient and outpatient visits Aid in animal husbandry tasks including feeding schedules, habitat maintenance, and basic animal physiology observations Skills Prior kennel experience combined with veterinary clinic experience to ensure comprehensive animal handling skills preferred Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and animal behavior to assist effectively in clinical tasks Experience with dog and cat handling, safe and humane animal restraint techniques, and pet care best practices Proficiency in record keeping systems and medication administration procedures to maintain accurate patient files Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly to ensure safety for staff and animals during procedures Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration in a fast-paced environment This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about animal health who thrive in energetic environments. $17.00

•$22.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0
