What if your role as a Veterinary Assistant wasn't just an entry point - but the beginning of a meaningful, supported career in veterinary medicine, clinical skill-building, and professional growth? At Summit Veterinary Care, we're a locally owned, growing practice in Bristow intentionally building something different: a place where medicine is gold-standard, service feels thoughtful and elevated, and team members are supported as whole people - not just roles on a schedule. We're not a corporate hospital. We're small on purpose. That means your work is seen, your voice matters, and your development is something we actively invest in - not something left to chance. We're looking for Veterinary Assistants who want more than task-based work. This role is for someone who wants to learn deeply, contribute meaningfully to patient care, and grow within a collaborative, high-standard clinical environment.
Why Summit Veterinary Care:
A Real Path for Growth (Not Just a A Job) We believe Veterinary Assistants are the foundation of excellent patient care. At Summit, you'll have structured opportunities to grow your skills, take on increasing responsibility, and build toward future roles in veterinary medicine - whether that's becoming a licensed technician, specializing in a clinical area, or advancing into leadership. Growth here is intentional, not accidental. Hands-On Learning and Real Mentorship You won't just "help out" - you'll be coached, supported, and actively trained by experienced technicians and doctors who want you to succeed. We invest in teaching proper technique, clinical reasoning, patient handling, and the "why" behind what we do. High-Standard, Team-Based Medicine We practice gold-standard veterinary medicine using modern tools, Fear Free handling, and a collaborative approach where assistants are essential to patient flow, comfort, and care quality - not secondary support. Fear Free, Patient-Centered Care As a Fear Free Certified Practice, we prioritize low-stress handling and thoughtful patient experiences that allow you to develop both technical skill and compassionate care practices from day one. A Team That Communicates and Collaborates We believe the best medicine happens when everyone is included. Assistants are active participants in patient care, communication, and team support - with leadership that values clarity, respect, and consistency. Community & Purpose Beyond the Clinic We stay connected to the community we serve through local events, outreach, donation drives, school partnerships, and mentorship of future veterinary professionals. A Workplace That Invests in You as a Person and a Professional We value work-life balance, respectful communication, and a culture where people genuinely support each other - especially on the hard days. We also make space for connection beyond the job, from team activities to shared experiences that strengthen how we work together.
