Responsibilities Assist with animal restraint and handling to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures Support veterinary technicians with medication administration, sample collection, and laboratory testing Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques in treatment areas to prevent infection and ensure compliance with health standards Help with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring daily health status Prepare exam rooms, surgical areas, and equipment for procedures, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use Provide compassionate pet care by comforting animals and assisting owners during check-ins and discharge processes Support front desk duties including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and answering client inquiries Assist with specialized tasks such as animal catheterization, IV placement, or other technical procedures under supervision Maintain detailed records of treatments, medications administered, and observations in accordance with veterinary protocols Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient outcomes Requirements Previous kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; enthusiasm for working with animals is essential Knowledge of animal husbandry practices and pet care routines Experience working in a veterinary clinic or similar setting is highly desirable; veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus Familiarity with veterinary terminology, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques for dogs, cats, horses or other species as needed Strong understanding of animal physiology, anatomy, and basic medical procedures such as medication administration and catheterization Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with clients and team members Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting animals or equipment safely, and maintaining a clean work environment Willingness to learn new skills related to critical care procedures such as intravenous therapy or laboratory testing Join us in delivering compassionate animal care while advancing your career in a supportive environment!
