Some people lean clinical, some lean client-facing. Here, getting good at both is how you move up. In the back Restrain dogs and cats for catheters, clipping, and vitals Take TPR, weight, and body condition scores Surgically clip and prep patients Clean, package, and sterilize instruments and build surgery packs Keep kennels, ORs, and treatment areas clean and stocked With experience, scrub in as a sterile assistant Up front Greet clients and answer phones professionally Schedule appointments and check clients out in Instinct Request records from referring hospitals Make post-op call-backs and document in the comm log With experience, handle routine and surgical discharges What we're looking for Animal handling experience in a clinic, shelter, boarding, or grooming setting (vet experience preferred, not required) Comfortable with phones, payments, and practice software

Benefits Health Care:

Year-end bonus:

based on job family, hours worked (Saturday hours weighted higher), and clinic revenue. Any PTO not carried over is also paid out at year end.

Saturday stipend:

$50 for any Saturday shift over 8 hours.

PTO/Sick:

combined bank of 3 week/year, plus an extra week after four years. Extra week of PTO after working at Sound Animal for 4 years. 401(k) Staff discount: 20% on all services.

Scrubs:

provided after 90 days, usually with more each year.

Food:

lunch at meetings, plus frozen meals, and snacks on hand.

Holidays:

Independence Day, Thanksgiving (American), Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.

EAP:

up to four mental health sessions per year. About us Sound Animal is a referral-only veterinary practice in Renton focused on soft-tissue surgery and dentistry. Emergency and specialty hospitals and GP clinics across the Puget Sound send us their surgical and dental cases, and we keep specialty-level care within reach for families who can't afford corporate specialty pricing. We're a small team, we don't do overnights, and we care a lot about how people feel coming to work here.
