Veterinary Technician (LVT preferred - No Weekends) About Thrive Veterinary Surgical Services, LLC We are a high-touch, high-integrity small animal surgery service providing advanced soft tissue, neurologic, and orthopedic procedures to dogs and cats in Alaska. Formerly a mobile-only service, we have now expanded into our first physical facility in Palmer. Position Summary This is not a typical tech position. As one of our founding Veterinary Technicians, you will be a vital partner in every patient's surgical experience. You'll work closely with the surgeon to deliver excellent patient care before, during, and after surgery. We're looking for someone who is calm under pressure, detail-oriented, naturally self-directed, and takes pride in being a linchpin in clinical operations. This is a hands-on, dynamic role requiring technical excellence, clinical judgment, and a collaborative spirit. You'll also play a key part in the foundation and growth of our new facility, helping shape protocols, track KPIs, improve efficiency, mentor future team members, and champion our high standards of care. This role is ideal for someone with a Type 5 or Type 1 Enneagram personality — intellectually curious, independent, principled, and driven to do things right the first time. This LVT role is not only foundational to the success of Thrive, but also to the larger specialty vision of our new building, Peak Veterinary Specialists . About Peak Veterinary Specialists Our new facility will be home to multiple veterinary specialists under one roof. Thrive will be the anchor surgical practice — and over time, we plan to welcome other independently operated specialty services or hire other specialists as a part of Thrive (e.g., neurology, oncology, dermatology). This LVT will initially support Thrive but must also align with the mission and vision of Peak Vet as we intentionally grow into a collaborative specialty center. Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Surgical Assistance

• Assist in pre-operative prep, induction, anesthesia monitoring, surgery, recovery, and post-operative care
• Maintain detailed and accurate medical and drug records
• Provide pain management and supportive care under the surgeon's direction
• Monitor patients with confidence and attention to detail
• Handle patients safely and compassionately Instrumentation & Clinic Operations
• Manage surgical instrument care and sterilization
• Ensure all equipment is maintained and functioning properly
• Assist with ordering, inventory tracking, and supply organization
• Perform in-house diagnostics and manage external diagnostic submission
• Help keep the clinic clean, organized, and welcoming Adapt to flexible daily task assignments based on clinical needs Anticipate and support the evolving needs of a growing specialty practice Client & Team Communication
• Assist with client and referring clinic communications and updates
• Clearly communicate discharge instructions and follow-up care with clients Maintain clear, warm, professional communication at all times
• Help mentor and train new team members as we grow Business Development and Marketing Support
• Maintain and improve upon consistent and efficient workflows and protocols
• Help define technician standards and procedures as the practice expands

Pay:

From $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 50.0 per week
