Job Description

About us Village Veterinary Clinic is a small business in Athens, AL. We are professional, agile, professional and our goal is to Continue to grow our business and culture with a highly motivated new staff member. We are looking for a licensed or unlicensed veterinary technician to join our team Our work environment includes: Modern office setting Modern office setting Relaxed atmosphere On-the-job training ```Duties```
  • -Gathering medical history from clients and assisting doctors in exam rooms
  • collecting blood samples from dogs and cats
  • analyzing samples in blood analyzers and maintaining anaylzers
  • -perform dental cleanings take dental radiographs
  • -monitor patients in surgery
  • -Place IV catheters, maintain pets on IV fluid pumps ```Qualifications```
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in veterinary technology preferred
  • Certification as a veterinary technician (CVT) or veterinary technician specialist (VTS) is a plus
  • Previous experience working as a veterinary technician or in a related field is required
  • Knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology
  • Proficient in animal restraint techniques for various species, including dogs, cats, and equine
  • Familiarity with veterinary equipment and instruments, such as catheters and surgical tools
  • Ability to perform basic laboratory tests and interpret results accurately
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary staff
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
