Our RVTs work directly with experienced veterinarians in surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, diagnostics, radiology, hospitalized patient care, treatment procedures, and client education. We offer in-house laboratory diagnostics, digital radiography, ultrasound access, hospitalization capabilities, oxygen support, and other resources that allow our team to provide comprehensive patient care. We are looking for someone who is technically capable, dependable, organized, and comfortable working as part of a collaborative veterinary team. Key Responsibilities Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery Surgical preparation and assistance Dental prophylaxis and dental radiographs Venipuncture and IV catheter placement In-house laboratory testing and sample preparation Digital radiography Medication administration within California RVT scope Nursing and monitoring hospitalized patients Patient restraint and safe animal handling Maintaining accurate medical and treatment records Assisting veterinarians with examinations and treatment procedures Client education, discharge instructions, and follow-up communication Maintaining clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment and procedure areas Qualifications Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in good standing, or eligibility to obtain California registration before beginning RVT duties Strong animal handling and restraint skills Experience with anesthesia and surgical monitoring preferred Strong attention to detail and medical documentation Ability to communicate professionally with doctors, coworkers, and clients Dependable and able to work effectively in a busy hospital environment Willingness to contribute wherever needed while working within appropriate scope and hospital protocols What We Offer $27-$34 per hour depending on experience, technical skill, and schedule availability Health insurance eligibility for qualifying employees Paid time off Employee veterinary service discounts Flexible scheduling Continuing education and professional development assistance Opportunities to expand technical skills Mentorship from experienced veterinarians and team members Opportunities for advancement and leadership responsibilities About Rainbow Veterinary Hospital Rainbow Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned, full-service veterinary hospital serving Burbank and the surrounding Los Angeles community. We provide preventive care, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, hospitalization, and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. As a privately owned hospital, we have the flexibility to make decisions locally and invest in the people, equipment, and systems that support good medicine and efficient patient care. Schedule 8-hour and 10-hour shifts available Day and evening shifts Monday through Friday Rotating Saturdays as needed Full-time and part-time schedules considered
Pay:
$26.00 - $34.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
