$35 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Companion animal handling Spanish Veterinary Technician Certification In-person customer service Clinic experience Pet vaccination Animal disease control Pet care record keeping Dog handling Animal patient charting Communication with pet owners Veterinary surgical sterility maintenance Full Job Description Vaccine Vets is hiring a California Registered Veterinary Technician to perform fast, focused vaccine-clinic intake for dogs and cats, and vaccine adminstration.
The RVT will review digital check-in information, confirm vaccine eligibility, perform a brief physical screen, provide vaccine-only recommendations under written veterinarian protocols, document the medical record, and keep the clinic line moving. This is a vaccine and parasite-prevention clinic role, not a full-service hospital role. Primary Duties Act under written protocols approved by the supervising/authorizing California DVM. Review digital check-in forms and vaccine records. Confirm pet identity, owner information, and requested services. Make short vaccine recommendations based on age, records, and lifestyle. Keep conversations limited to vaccine and parasite-prevention questions. Redirect non-vaccine medical questions to a full veterinary exam. Administer vaccines/parasite-prevention p Respond to vaccine reactions under DVM-approved emergency protocol. Ability to work extra hours per shift, and potenital overtime by becoming up car and supplies Required Qualifications Commit to at least 2 monthly recurring shifts or more.
Ex:
1st Saturday of every month, 3rd Sunday etc. Active California RVT registration in good standing. At least 1 year small-animal clinical experience. Comfortable handling dogs and cats in a high-volume environment. Able to work quickly while documenting accurately.
Understands scope limits:
vaccines/parasite prevention only, no unrelated diagnosis or prescribing. Available for weekend/mobile clinic shifts. Professional, concise communication with clients. Able to stand for long periods and safely restrain/handle animals. Ability to lift 40 pounds Preferred Qualifications Vaccine clinic, shelter, urgent care, mobile clinic, or high-volume experience. Spanish bilingual. Experience with rabies certificates and vaccine records. Experience with adverse vaccine reaction protocols. Lead RVT or training experience.
