ACT Spay/Neuter Clinic is seeking a dependable and motivated Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our nonprofit, high-volume spay/neuter clinic. We are looking for someone who is confident, organized, compassionate, and able to help lead the team while supporting both medical and client-service areas of the clinic. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. This position requires flexibility and willingness to assist both in the back medical area and at the front desk/lobby when needed.
Responsibilities include:
☐ Assisting with surgery patients before, during, and after procedures ☐ Calculating, preparing, and administering medications and anesthesia as directed by the veterinarian ☐ Monitoring anesthesia and patient recovery ☐ Administering vaccines and medications as directed ☐ Assisting with wellness and vaccine clinic services ☐ Supporting veterinarians and staff during surgery days ☐ Communicating clearly and professionally with clients and coworkers ☐ Helping provide excellent customer service at the front desk when needed ☐ Assisting with patient check-in, discharge, and client education ☐ Assisting with ACT's cat adoption program, including care, handling, client communication, and support for adoption-related needs ☐ Helping maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment ☐ Cleaning cages, kennels, exam areas, surgery areas, and common workspaces as needed ☐ Assisting with laundry, dishes, trash, sweeping, mopping, and other daily cleaning duties ☐ Following clinic cleaning, sanitation, and safety protocols ☐ Providing leadership and support to veterinary assistants and other staff
Qualifications:
☐ Current California RVT license required ☐ Comfortable working in a surgery and anesthesia setting ☐ Ability to accurately calculate and administer medications and anesthesia ☐ Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical recovery preferred ☐ Strong communication and customer service skills ☐ Ability to lead by example and work as part of a team ☐ Willingness to help wherever needed, including front office, back office, surgery, vaccines, adoption support, and cleaning duties ☐ Reliable, professional, and compassionate To apply: Please submit your resume and cover letter.
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
