The ideal candidate will possess an outgoing, positive attitude, strong passion for helping clients offer the very best care for their pets. This position also requires comprehensive veterinary technician experience and proficiency in a wide range of clinical procedures. As a Cardiology Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in client communication, technical tasks and animal handling, ensuring the highest standards of medical excellence. This position offers an engaging environment where your expertise directly contributes to improving the health and well-being of our patients. There are also ample opportunities to obtain more hours helping build our quickly growing practice. Responsibilities Assist the Cardiologist with diagnostic procedures, including obtaining radiographs, electrocardiograms and laboratory work, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols. Perform animal restraint and handling for examinations, treatments, and diagnostic tests, demonstrating proficiency in canine and feline handling. Administer medications, and treatments accurately. Insert IV catheters and perform phlebotomy with precision to facilitate blood sampling and advanced diagnostic testing. Provide expert pet care for patients. Maintain detailed records using veterinary software, documenting treatments, laboratory results, and client communications efficiently. Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions and treatment plans to foster trust and understanding. Qualifications Proven veterinary technician experience with comprehensive knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and medical procedures. Kennel experience coupled with familiarity in pet grooming and dog training is advantageous. Experience in laboratory work, diagnostic radiology (including X-ray), radiology diagnostics, and laboratory diagnostics. Skilled in vascular access techniques. Knowledge of emergency medicine protocols including veterinary emergency care and critical & intensive care procedures. Ability to operate medical equipment safely while adhering to aseptic techniques during invasive procedures. Excellent animal handling skills for dogs and cats with a focus on animal restraint safety. Strong communication skills for client education and team collaboration; familiarity with veterinary software is required.
