Veterinary Ophthalmology Technician

• Part Time Sawgrass Veterinary Referral Associates (located within Camelot Animal Hospital and Boarding Kennel) is looking for an energetic and dependable Veterinary Ophthalmology Technician to join our team serving a small animal ophthalmology practice.

We are looking for a technician with at least 1 year of experience working in a veterinary hospital preferably with a veterinary ophthalmologist, but are willing to train the right candidate.

Has excellent attention to detail and written/verbal communication skills. Is familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of Avimark veterinary software is a plus.

Responsibilities include:

Prepare and maintain clean, sterile and organized exam rooms, lab and treatment areas. Use safe and compassionate animal restraint and assist doctors with exams and treatments. Collect samples, perform venipuncture and run lab analyses. Wrap and sterilize surgical packs. Prep animals, monitor anesthesia and assist doctors in surgery. Provide client service and education re: treatments, medications, etc. Veterinary technician certification is not required; we will train. Veterinary receptionist experience is a plus. Candidate must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance, must have reliable transportation, and pre-employment background and reference checks are required. Shift hours will likely be Monday 10 AM

• 7 PM, Tuesday 10:30 AM
• 7 PM, Thursday 10 AM
• 7 PM, and Friday 1:30 PM
• 7 PM.
