About Us:

Surgery for Pets is a new veterinary surgical outpatient center in Delray Beach, Florida, planning to open in late November-December 2026 . Our mission is to provide high-quality, compassionate, and affordable surgical care for dogs and cats. We perform a wide range of procedures, including soft tissue, orthopedic, airway, urinary, ophthalmic, and oral surgeries, as well as urgent and emergency procedures. We are seeking a motivated, experienced Veterinary Surgical Technician to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a new surgical practice from the beginning and work closely with veterinarians in a surgery-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for surgical procedures, including catheter placement, anesthesia preparation, and surgical site preparation. Induce anesthesia under veterinarian supervision, monitor anesthetized patients, and assist with anesthetic management. Monitor vital parameters, including ECG, blood pressure, ETCO₂, SpO₂, and temperature. Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures. Provide preoperative and postoperative patient care. Manage surgical instruments, sterilization, and surgical suite preparation. Maintain accurate medical and anesthesia records. Assist with patient intake, recovery, and discharge. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient surgical environment. Assist with urgent and emergency surgical cases as needed.

Qualifications:

Previous veterinary technician experience required. Surgical and anesthesia experience strongly preferred. Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery. Knowledge of veterinary surgical instruments and sterile technique. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential preferred but not required. Willingness to participate in optional overtime and on-call emergency surgical cases is a plus.

Schedule & Additional Opportunities:

Our regular business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-6:00 PM . In addition to regular scheduled hours, there will be opportunities for overtime and participation in on-call emergency surgeries , depending on case availability and staffing needs. After-hours surgical cases are accepted based on availability and patient suitability. Participation in these cases provides opportunities for additional compensation and surgical experience. Pay:

$21.00 - $28.00 per hour
