Job Description

Job Overview Eye Clinic for Animals is seeking an energetic and motivated Veterinary Technician to join our team. The person must also have receptionist skills and show leadership capabilities. We are looking for a team player who is compassionate with animals and their pet parents as well as passionate about veterinary medicine. The individual must be detail oriented and show proficiency in patient care, problem solving, and communication skills. Duties Assistance in ophthalmology appointments, history taking, coordinating procedures, creating estimates, and overall patient and client care. Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations or treatments. Taking patient histories, vital signs, and weights. Performing laboratory in-hospital procedures, (blood draws etc.) and preparing specimens for outside laboratories. Performing diagnostic ophthalmic testing. (Schirmer tear test, Tonometry, etc.) Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to ensure understanding and compliance. Assisting board-certified ophthalmologists in care and sedated/general anesthesia surgical procedures and providing pre and post op care for patients, catheter placement and blood draws. Assisting with receptionist duties as needed. Excellent client communication skills along with the ability to work collaboratively within a veterinary team. Pay:
$20.00 - $29.00 per hour Expected hours: 33.0 - 40.0 per week
