Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and small animal veterinary practices, demonstrating a commitment to providing high-quality support in the clinical environment. This role involves working closely with veterinarians and other staff to ensure the health and well-being of our animal patients. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures. Perform laboratory tests and analyze samples to aid in diagnosis. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed. Provide critical care for animals in need of immediate attention. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Utilize aseptic techniques during surgical procedures and while handling specimens. Monitor animal vital signs and behavior post-surgery or treatment. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations or procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic environment. Qualifications Previous veterinary technician experience is preferred. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices. Familiarity with dental equipment related to animal care. Experience with laboratory procedures and anesthesia is advantageous. Understanding of veterinary critical care protocols is desirable. Proficiency in dog handling, animal restraint techniques, and catheterization skills. Skills in dog training and behavior are considered assets. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members. A commitment to providing compassionate care for animals in our community.
