This position involves a combination of appointment support, laboratory work, anesthesia and surgical assistance, patient handling, treatments, and equipment maintenance . The ideal candidate is confident in their technical skills while also being comfortable communicating with clients and working collaboratively with the rest of the team. Because we are a small practice, we value team members who are willing to take initiative, communicate clearly, and contribute to the overall operation of the hospital. Required Skills & Attributes 2+ years of experience working as a veterinary technician. Experience using veterinary practice management software for medical records, scheduling, and billing. Experience with DaySmart is a plus; training will be provided. Strong ability to multitask, prioritize competing demands, and organize tasks according to patient and clinical urgency.

Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Clinical Support Assist the veterinarian with examinations, treatments, diagnostics, and medical procedures. Safely restrain and handle patients during examinations and procedures. Monitor patients and communicate changes in patient condition promptly to the veterinarian. Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Prepare patients for procedures and provide appropriate post-procedure care. Provide compassionate and attentive patient care throughout hospitalization and treatment. Surgery & Anesthesia Assist with surgical procedures and maintain appropriate surgical technique. Prepare patients for surgery, including appropriate clipping, surgical preparation, and positioning. Monitor patients under anesthesia and communicate changes in vital signs or patient status to the veterinarian. Assist with induction, recovery, and post-operative monitoring. Properly clean, package, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment. Ensure surgical areas are properly prepared before procedures. Laboratory & Diagnostics Draw blood and collect urine, fecal, and other diagnostic samples. Perform in-house laboratory testing according to established protocols. Prepare and properly package samples for submission to reference laboratories. Maintain accurate laboratory and patient records. Assist with diagnostic procedures as directed by the veterinarian. Equipment & Hospital Maintenance Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of medical and laboratory equipment. Identify equipment or supply issues and communicate them to the appropriate team member. Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment, surgical, and laboratory areas. Assist with maintaining appropriate infection-control and safety standards throughout the hospital.
