Our growing practice is looking to add to our team. We value quality care for all of our patients and detailed client education. Our thorough approach to quality medicine for our patients helps ensure that we find a plan that works for both patient and owner. We all work together to make every visit a success and as straightforward as possible. You will work independently and with the Doctor. You must be self sufficient in all aspects of the position .
Job Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, dentals, and medical procedures. Perform diagnostic tests, including blood work and radiography. Monitor anesthesia and post-operative recovery for patients. Administer medications and vaccinations as directed. Provide excellent patient care and comfort. Maintain accurate medical records and assist with client education. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the clinic and equipment. Mentor reception/support staff as needed
Skills:
The following skills are required for this role: Ability to lift 40 lbs Proficiency in blood collection and IV catheter placement Proficiency in presurgical, surgical and post surgical skills including - intubation, monitoring, dental prophylaxis, extubation Understanding of animal physiology and husbandry and ability to convey pertinent information to pet owner Understanding of, and ability to educate clients on common diseases and parasites of cats and dogs Experience with laboratory procedures in a veterinary setting. Skilled in handling dogs and cats safely and effectively.
