As an Overnight Veterinary Technician , you are an important advocate for our hospitalized patients and a key part of maintaining excellent patient care when the daytime team has gone home. We are looking for an independent, compassionate, and dependable veterinary technician who can work confidently with limited direct supervision, recognize changes in patient condition, and respond appropriately to urgent or emergency situations. Overnight responsibilities will focus heavily on inpatient care, patient monitoring, treatments, medication administration, nursing care, and maintaining a clean and organized hospital . Our Overnight Veterinary Technicians Should Be Ready To:
Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to hospitalized patients throughout the night Monitor patients closely and recognize changes in condition Administer medications, treatments, and supportive care as directed Perform venipuncture and other appropriate technical skills Monitor IV fluids, catheter sites, TPRs, pain levels, and overall patient status Assist with urgent and emergency cases when needed Communicate significant patient changes or concerns to the appropriate DVM Maintain accurate and thorough medical records and treatment notes Follow treatment plans and hospital protocols independently Prepare patients and the hospital for the incoming day team Communicate clearly with the daytime team during shift changes Maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment Restock supplies and ensure treatment areas are prepared for the next shift Handle unexpected situations calmly and professionally Occasionally take part in a cat rodeo
What We're Looking For:
Previous veterinary technician experience preferred CVT/LVT certification is a plus Strong understanding of veterinary nursing and patient care Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions within your scope of practice Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize subtle changes in patients Effective communication with doctors and team members Ability to remain calm and compassionate during stressful or emergency situations Strong organizational and time-management skills Reliable attendance and ability to work overnight hours Ability to use Windows-based computer systems, medical software, email, and other technology Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to our hospital culture The Right Fit for
