In this vital role, you will support veterinarians in delivering exceptional medical and surgical care, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and providing compassionate service to clients. Your expertise in animal handling, medical procedures, and clinic management will help create a positive environment for both animals and people. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, setting dedicated to excellence. We work with many high quality show breeders as well as pet owners. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including animal restraint, catheterization, and aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment. Perform laboratory tests, collect samples for diagnostics, and manage medical records using veterinary software. Provide high-quality animal husbandry and animal care, ensuring proper feeding, grooming, and monitoring of patient health. Handle companion animals with confidence, including dog handling and general animal restraint to ensure safety during examinations and treatments. Support surgical procedures by preparing patient areas, sterilizing instruments, and assisting during surgeries. Manage kennel operations by cleaning, feeding, and monitoring hospitalized animals while maintaining detailed records. Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs while adhering to veterinary terminology standards. Qualifications Proven experience as a veterinary technician or in a veterinary clinic setting is required. Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, veterinary critical care practices, and laboratory procedures. Familiarity with veterinary software systems. Excellent animal handling skills across various species with an emphasis on dog handling and animal restraint techniques. Knowledge of veterinary regulations including Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and USDA guidelines. Ability to perform medical collection procedures such as blood draws or urine sampling accurately. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with pet owners and team members alike. This role is perfect for motivated individuals providing compassionate care in a supportive environment. We are looking for a technician to mainly assist in surgery. We perform routine surgeries 1 day a week—hours can be adjusted for mothers with children. Flexible scheduling for c-sections when needed.
