Animal Care Technician:

Part-time, primarily Saturday and Sunday mornings. Occasionally weekday/weekend evenings.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:

Maintain cleanliness of animal cages/kennels and care for animals as per shelter regulations. Such as, but not limited to: Clean/maintain shelter facilities including floors, windows, etc. Disinfect dishes and animal supplies. Wash and care for all linens used. Administer medications to animals as required after completion of appropriate training. Observe and report any behavioral or physical/medical abnormalities noted. .

Job Qualifications:

Able to deal tactfully and effectively with people. Must be reliable and willing to work early morning, evening, and weekend shifts. Ability to work well alone and with others. Able to exercise good judgment when handling animals. Ability to learn and understand the principles of animal welfare work and polices of the LAHS. Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Able to bend and kneel, also, stand and walk on concrete surfaces for long periods of time.
