Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians in delivering comprehensive medical services, ensuring the well-being of a diverse range of animals. Your expertise in animal handling, medical procedures, and client communication will help create a compassionate and efficient environment where pets and their owners feel confident and cared for. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in veterinary medicine while making a positive impact on animals' lives every day. Duties Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including animal restraint, surgical assistance, and anesthesia monitoring to ensure safe and effective treatments. Perform laboratory work such as phlebotomy, diagnostic testing, and radiology diagnostics to support accurate diagnoses. Manage animal husbandry tasks including feeding, grooming, and maintaining clean kennels to promote optimal health and comfort. Administer medications, IV insertions, and animal catheterizations following aseptic techniques to ensure proper treatment delivery. Handle pet care responsibilities like pet grooming, pet handling, and client communication to foster trust and satisfaction. Operate medical equipment including X-ray machines, laboratory analyzers, and anesthesia machines with precision. Support emergency medicine cases by providing critical & intensive care, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with veterinary procedures during urgent situations. Qualifications Proven veterinary technician experience with knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and surgical procedures. Kennel experience combined with animal handling skills for dogs, cats, and other small animals. Familiarity with dental terminology, veterinary anesthesia monitoring, vascular access techniques, and general anesthesia protocols. Laboratory experience including phlebotomy, diagnostic radiology, radiology diagnostics, and veterinary laboratory work. Strong understanding of emergency medicine practices such as critical & intensive care management and pet emergency care procedures. Ability to operate medical equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining aseptic technique standards. Excellent client communication skills to educate pet owners about pet care needs and treatment plans. Join us in delivering compassionate veterinary care that makes a difference! $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
