You will assist veterinarians in delivering comprehensive medical services, ensuring the comfort and well-being of our beloved pets and animals In a rural but busy veterinary clinic just 30 minutes east of Columbus. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during treatments or procedures. Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic assays to support accurate diagnoses. Maintain detailed records of patient histories, treatments, and laboratory results with precision and attention to detail. Handle X-ray procedures including positioning animals correctly and processing images for review by veterinarians. Manage animal husbandry duties such as feeding, cleaning enclosures, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring overall animal welfare. Support veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring vital signs, administering medications via catheterization or injections, and providing compassionate animal care during recovery.
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and laboratory procedures. Experience with dental terminology related to pet dental care procedures. Knowledge of aseptic techniques essential for surgical prep and infection control. Skilled in animal restraint techniques Familiarity with X-ray imaging processes and laboratory testing methods used in veterinary medicine. Ability to perform animal catheterization safely while maintaining aseptic conditions.
Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
