Job Description

Full Job Description Full-Time and Part-Time Registered Veterinary Technician positions available Lancaster Animal Clinic is looking for a motivated, dependable, detailed-oriented individual to join our growing team! We are a 5 doctor practice located Southeast of Columbus in Lancaster Ohio right near shopping and eating areas such as Target and River Valley Mall. We have been open since 1985 and are a well established small animal and exotics facility offering digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound, in house lab work (Idexx Catalyst, Sedivue, SnapPro, Procyte), surgery and dentistry. Quality medicine and family friendly environment and work culture. No overnight care, rotating half day Saturdays, Sundays off! Duties include but not limited to: Venipuncture Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns Provide client education including, but not limited to: home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment, appointments and procedures Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing Calculate & Administer Medications Dispense & Administer Medications Prepare & Monitor Patients for Surgeries Patient Care Animal Restraint Customer Service A current Veterinary Technician license with the state of Ohio is required unless in the Veterinary Technician program. (New Graduate or Students welcome!) Hospital hours are Monday thru Friday 9am-7pm, Saturday 9am-1pm. Please email your resume Qualifications Veterinary Technician Certification Proficiency in animal restraint Experience in medication administration Veterinary experience Animal handling skills Knowledge of veterinary terminology Animal anatomy knowledge Animal catheterization experience Pet care experience Premium skills such as kennel experience and laboratory experience Relevant skills in dog training and X-Ray Equine experience is a plus
