Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including anesthesia monitoring, IV insertion, and animal restraint to ensure safe and effective treatments. Perform laboratory work such as phlebotomy, diagnostic radiology, and veterinary laboratory diagnostics to support accurate diagnoses. Handle animals safely using proper animal handling techniques, including dog training, pet grooming, and animal restraint to promote comfort and safety. Maintain aseptic techniques during surgical assistance and veterinary procedures to prevent infections. Operate medical equipment like X-ray machines, radiology diagnostics tools, and other veterinary technology to facilitate accurate imaging and diagnostics. Support emergency medicine efforts by providing critical & intensive care, medication administration, and assisting with veterinary anesthesia monitoring. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to foster trust and understanding. Qualifications Previous kennel experience or animal husbandry background preferred but not required; a strong desire to learn is essential. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary surgical assistance is highly valued. Experience with veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment scheduling is a plus. Demonstrated ability in dog handling, animal restraint, IV insertion, and vascular access techniques. Familiarity with laboratory procedures such as phlebotomy and diagnostic radiology enhances your suitability for this role. Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration are essential.
