We've provided compassionate care for area pets and their owners since 1989. Our office is in a quiet neighborhood in the lovely, historic town of Mount Joy, PA in the former Washington School. Our doctors and staff make up a compassionate team of professionals who are personable and knowledgeable in small animal veterinary care. We offer preventative care, routine and orthopedic surgery, digital radiology, dental care, in-house routine and diagnostic laboratory testing, and an in-house pharmacy. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed. Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any changes to the veterinarian. Handle dogs and other animals safely and compassionately during procedures. Maintain accurate medical records for each patient. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and training techniques. Prepare animals for surgery and assist in post-operative care. Utilize dental terminology to assist in dental cleanings and procedures. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment. Skills Proficient in dog handling techniques to ensure safety for both the animal and staff. Knowledge of animal catheterization procedures for effective patient care. Strong background in animal care practices to promote overall health. Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine. Understanding of dental terminology relevant to veterinary dentistry. Experience in dog training methods to assist with behavioral assessments. Comprehensive knowledge of animal anatomy to support clinical tasks. Ability to provide exceptional pet care through compassion and attention to detail. Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not required. Skills in pet grooming are a plus for maintaining the appearance of patients.
